CJ DeGennaro

CJ DeGennaro, a 31-year-old from Ellwood City, Pennsylvania who lives with cerebral palsy, was nominated 110 times in 2 years to receive a life-changing walk-in tub. Said one nominator: “CJ is the pride of Ellwood City.”

CJ lives with his father, Steve, who has devoted his life to caring for his son but was unable to afford the one thing he needs: a walk-in tub. CJ’s grandmother used to take CJ to water therapy at a local facility but passed away; Steve, a single father, works full-time, leaving CJ in the predicament of having to obtain a ride to water therapy. So, Safe Step Walk-In Tubs stepped in.

Surrounded by friends and family, CJ received a surprise donation from Safe Step. He was unanimously chosen by the company’s employees to receive the donation. The tub not only eliminates the need to pay for a ride to water physical therapy, but its therapeutic features help CJ feel better and sleep better.
